About Us
We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Wind Tunnel Operations team plays a vital role in the aerodynamic development of our race car, enabling the testing and validation of new concepts in a controlled environment. As a Wind Tunnel Operations Intern, you’ll be part of a team that ensures the smooth and accurate execution of wind tunnel testing, supporting the development of a competitive aerodynamic package.
The Role
As a Wind Tunnel Operations Intern, you’ll support the day-to-day running of wind tunnel tests, including model preparation, instrumentation, data acquisition, and test execution. You’ll work closely with aerodynamicists, model designers, and test engineers to ensure high-quality data is delivered efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and setup of wind tunnel models and test rigs
- Support the installation and calibration of instrumentation and sensors
- Help monitor and control test sessions, ensuring accurate data capture
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of wind tunnel systems and processes
- Collaborate with aerodynamic development teams to ensure test objectives are met
- Who We’re Looking For
- Currently studying a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerodynamics or Aerospace and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with instrumentation, data acquisition systems, or mechanical testing
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical tasks
- Passion for motorsport and a proactive, hands-on mindset
- You must have the right to work in the UK as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
- Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in October
