What you will do

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing specialist support and guidance in payroll administration, processing, reporting, and compliance for a specific department or function:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain payroll procedures in compliance with company policies and regulations

  • Process payroll accurately and timely for all employees

  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and benefits information

  • Conduct audits to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies

  • Stay updated on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance

  • Provide specialized support and guidance in payroll administration and processing for the department or function

  • Offer expert advice and direction on payroll policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Research and resolve discrepancies in payrolls, ensuring accuracy and compliance

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll practices and procedures, documenting requirements

  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors to address payroll issues promptly and effectively

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 0-2 years of experience in payroll processing

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Preferably hold a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll time and attendance management is advantageous

  • Familiarity with Payroll processes, controls, and compliance regulations is preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools and applications, especially MS Excel (pivot tables, v-look up functions)

  • Experience with payroll applications and service providers is a plus

  • Knowledge of Kronos or SAP Time Tracking module is beneficial

  • Experience with ERP systems like Payroll, HR, OM modules of SAP is advantageous

  • Ability to prioritize customer requests, work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines
