The Americas Investment Banking Division (IBD) provides a vast array of advisory and financing solutions capabilities to corporations and institutions around the world. Our global teams consist of experienced professionals who act as advisory, coverage, and product specialists.

  • Coverage: Financial Sponsors coverage and Industry coverage in areas including Consumer / Retail, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Technology and Media Services, and Greentech Industrials and Infrastructure
  • Client Financing & Solutions: Product specialists in traditional capital markets and financing functions, including Acquisition & Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets, Risk Solutions, and Debt Capital Markets

IB Private Debt Solutions

Opportunity to join the, Americas, Private Debt Solutions (“PDS”) team, within Nomura’s Investment Banking Division. Execute best-efforts debt placements, across the capital structure, as well as underwritten private debt financings. Join an established team leveraging strong execution capabilities and track record working with financial sponsors, corporate clients and founders to support their financing needs. Nomura PDS is a core focus of the bank, representing a substantial growth opportunity for Nomura.

What Role Might You Play?

  • Deal Execution: Work closely with clients and senior-level bankers to execute financing transactions related to mergers & acquisitions, recapitalizations, refinancings and growth financings
  • Strategic Analysis: Thorough financial, structural, and business risk analysis to support transactions and client presentations
  • Team Management and Development: Manage Analysts to execute deliverables for clients and support the training and mentoring of junior professionals
  • Client Relationship Management: Generate and present ideas at client meetings as a member of the deal team, alongside senior bankers
  • New Business Development: Actively participate in the effort to pitch and win new mandates from clients, leverage proprietary content and ideas

Requirements

  • 3+ years of investment banking or credit underwriting experience
  • Outstanding academic qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Outstanding technical and analytical skills
  • Series 7 or SIE and 63 and 79

*base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, corporate and functional title and duties, job-related knowledge and advanced degrees, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
