We are currently seeking a Technical Service Representative (TSR) to join our Marine & Protective Coatings team in Athens, supporting clients across Greece and Cyprus. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior engineer with strong technical acumen and an interest in developing a career in a customer-facing, field-based technical role.

Purpose Of The Role

As a Technical Service Representative, you will provide on-site technical support during paint application projects at shipyards, dry docks, and industrial sites, primarily in the Piraeus area. You will work closely with applicators, inspectors, and ship owners to ensure correct product usage, optimal performance, and full compliance with AkzoNobel’s global quality and safety standards.

This is a field-based position offering significant responsibility, professional development, and exposure to complex marine and protective coating projects from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers during Newbuilding and Maintenance & Repair projects
  • Supervise coating applications to ensure compliance with International Paint and AkzoNobel standards
  • Conduct inspections, issue technical reports, and make on-site decisions regarding surface preparation and repair needs
  • Deliver product training to customers and applicators, both on-site and at dedicated training centers
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Technical teams to provide pre-sales and after-sales technical expertise
  • Support the introduction of new technologies and products through field trials and testing
  • Maintain and use CRM systems to ensure accurate reporting and project tracking
  • Promote health & safety compliance and uphold AkzoNobel’s brand image and customer satisfaction

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a technically curious, self-reliant professional with strong interpersonal skills, capable of thriving in a dynamic and field-based working environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Naval, or similar)
  • Fluency in Greek and professional proficiency in English
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships and resolve conflicts
  • High level of independence, and on-the-spot decision-making ability
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety regulations in Greece
  • Valid driving license
  • High level of travel willingness to travel frequently across Greece and Cyprus, with occasional international travel for training
  • Flexibility in working hours, depending on project timelines and site access conditions

Preferred But Not Mandatory:

  • FROSIO Level III and/or NACE Level 2 certification
  • Previous experience or internship in marine or protective coatings, or in industrial field environments
