Kia ora! We have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our Reverse Mortgages team in the Wellington area.

Is this your next role

We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to grow our reverse mortgage advisor network. You’ll build strong relationships with brokers, advisers, and partners—educating and inspiring them to champion our products. As the face of Heartland in your region, you’ll activate new opportunities, support distribution partners, and help more Kiwis achieve financial freedom in retirement.

Does this sound like you?

A confident, self-driven relationship builder with experience in financial services and a talent for business development. You’re skilled at educating and influencing advisers, simplifying complex products, and identifying growth opportunities. With strong communication and autonomy, you will champion Heartland’s reverse mortgage offering and have a passion for helping people thrive in retirement.

You’Re A Pro With:

  • Develop and deepen strategic relationships with financial advisers, brokers, aggregation groups, and industry influencers to drive referral growth.
  • Own a regional territory, building a strong local presence through regular adviser engagement, networking, and community visibility.
  • Deliver tailored presentations and product education sessions to advisers and partners, positioning Heartland as the preferred provider.
  • Design and execute a communication strategy for active and non-active advisers, ensuring consistent engagement and product awareness.
  • Oversee weekly adviser commission processes with accuracy and transparency.
