Job Summary

Responsible for promoting the game of tennis and pickleball, as well as the Club, while delivering exceptional service and supporting racquet shop operations. Duties include accurately processing transactions at the register and checking in all tennis and pickleball players. This role is also responsible for completing daily assignments and end-of-shift tasks. Reports directly to the Tennis Shop Manager.

Reporting Structure

            •           Reports to the Manager Tennis Shop or Head Tennis Professional 

Day To Day

  • Provide efficient and friendly customer service in the Pro Shop, including checking in all tennis and pickleball players.
  • Accurately ring up lessons, court fees, and merchandise while following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Actively promote tennis/pickleball programs and maintain a high standard of professionalism and service.
  • Respond to inquiries, schedule lessons, and manage court reservations for Members and Guests in person and over the phone in a courteous manner.
  • Keep the Pro Shop neat, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Ensure completion of all daily assignments in designated areas.
  • Assist Members and Guests professionally, handling last-minute requests or changes as needed.

Additional Duties

  • Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.   
  • Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions. 
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff. 
  • Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same. 
  • Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role. 
  • Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations. 
  • Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team’s success. 

About You

Required

  • Customer service experience required
  • Basic tennis knowledge preferred
  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and driving. 
  • Occasional exposure to temperature changes, dust, fumes, or gases. 
  • Squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, and bending. 
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. on occasion. 
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing. 

Primary Tools/Equipment

  • Merchandise (5 - 30 lbs.) 
  • Racquets (1-2 lbs.) 
  • Computer, Tablet, Phone etc.  

Work Schedule

  • Adherence to attendance requirements as outlined in the weekly schedule. 
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet position deadlines. 
  • Availability to work on weekends and/or holidays as required.
