Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

The Social, Digital, Entertainment, and Advertising Specialist will assist in the continued development of the digital engagement (websites, social, mobile) strategy and the entertainment strategy for Harrah's Philadelphia. This role is responsible for providing content and insight into current trends, impact measurement within the digital marketing space, as well as planning and executing all entertainment. 

This position is fully integrated into Harrah's Philadelphia Marketing team and will be exposed to the positioning of Harrah's Philadelphia as an engaging brand by creating great experiences, telling stories through articles/posts/tweets, responding to customer feedback and media across multiple platforms. The position will also manage the property entertainment operations. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for providing overall support for Internet Marketing initiatives for Harrah's Philadelphia. This position will primarily focus on providing Internet Marketing support in the areas of internet marketing, promotions, SEO and content management to help drive the social media strategy for the properties. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date web content for the properties, utilizing social internet sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Blog, Google Plus and text-messaging programs as a marketing tool. Content Management is a key focus for this position as well as ensuring consistency of message across multiple networks. Works with other members of the marketing teams and corporate internet marketing departments to gather data from internal and external sources. Supports management in the execution of proactive select internet projects, e.g., developing promotions, events, content to support and promote regional initiative. Works with the various internal groups to set up special offers, room packages, hot deals and packages for promotional purposes promoted through our various channels. Supports local initiatives to grow the customer email database. Monitors and tracks discussion topics for management team including mediums such as, but not limited to, social websites, blog sites, e-newsletters, direct marketing, and retail/cash focused communications. Provides analysis and recommendations based on program performance. Attends events and promotions to gather content for social channels. Supports the greater marking department through copy writing, photography, interviews, and other related activities. 
  • Facilitate and traffic all advertising and job requests for various departments on property, acting the primary liaison for marketing, advertising, and PR needs. Exceptional follow-through on tasks and attention to detail, as well as communication with key partners and departments. Write, proofread, and edit advertising materials, press releases and other forms of communication. 
  • Manages entertainment programming, coordination, and logistics for the property 
  • Performs the following for Harrah's Philadelphia: Prepares for approval all advertising promotional materials, media selections and collateral materials prepared by the Company's advertising agency. Accountable for all incoming and outgoing collateral by trafficking jobs through the advertising agency, contacts with outside vendors and in-house personnel. Works with Purchasing to constantly improve pricing and production quality. Responsible for scheduling advertising materials on property and billboards.
  • Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date status report of open jobs. Provides accurate monthly estimates of current work for departmental budget forecast. Creates and produces marketing materials for any/all the following departments: Advertising, promotions, special events, direct marketing, human resources, public relations, slot operations, food and beverage, racing operations and other departments as needed. Coordinates all phases for creation and production of marketing materials, including concept development, creative brief, liaison with creative development/vendors, estimation, traffic, approvals, production, and billing. Monitors and analyzes competitor spending, promotions, and marketing efforts. Makes recommendations about share stealing opportunities in advertising, direct mail, public relations, and promotions. Develops marketing materials within Brand standards and business objectives. Accountable for improving effectiveness of all marketing materials based on business objectives. Assists in developing department forecasts and budgets as requested.

Qualifications And Experience:

  1. 1.             Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience required
  2. 2.             Candidate should be self-motivated, detail orientated, and prioritize multiple tasks
  3. 3.             Candidate needs to be an expert and perfectionist at English grammar and copywriting.
  4. 4.             Candidate must be flexible with schedule and perform tasks as needed.
  5. 5.             In depth knowledge and understanding of online community platforms and their respective participants (Forums, blogs, photo uploads, social, etc.), as well as entertainment operations.
  6. 6.             Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  7. 7.             Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing online communities, platforms, and entertainment for brands

Is able to work in smoke filled environment and is able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. 

Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate license through the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
