In this role, you will be at the forefront of understanding emerging AI and platform features in Windows and integrate compliance early into the Windows product development lifecycle. You will craft strategic approaches to embed trust and regulatory readiness from the earliest stages of feature design. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with engineering teams and compliance SMEs to drive a strong compliance posture for Windows.

You will:

  • Develop and drive strategy for early-stage compliance integration across Windows engineering.
  • Partner with product teams to ensure alignment with global regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex policies and regulations into actionable design principles.
  • Identify and mitigate compliance risks across the product lifecycle.
  • Co-create modern, AI-driven compliance platforms and programs that scale across engineering teams.
  • Influence tooling, governance, and technology investments to meet business objectives and customer needs.

Responsibilities

Drive Product Compliance
  • Champion compliance integration by educating engineering teams on regulatory requirements and influencing feature design to align with trust principles.
  • Translate complex compliance standards into actionable, accessible guidance for cross-functional teams.
  • Foster consistent application of regulations across product groups, advising on compliance status for features, processes, and programs.

Support Regulatory and Market Readiness

  • Lead the standardization of onboarding new regulations, partnering with subject matter experts to ensure efficient and scalable execution.
  • Assess the security, privacy, and compliance posture of emerging features, crafting compelling narratives to support customer understanding and adoption in collaboration with marketing.
  • Define and monitor compliance readiness metrics, deliver insights through business reviews, and drive strategic actions to enhance implementation.
  • Develop and report compliance readiness indicators and audit findings for internal and external stakeholders, consulting on remediation strategies.

Risk Mitigation and Governance

  • Apply deep knowledge of policies, laws, and regulations to assess risk, escalate non-conformance, and drive timely mitigations.
  • Establish program-level compliance guidelines aligned with corporate policies to ensure consistent governance across the organization.

Enable Compliance Platform Development

  • Define requirements for tools and processes that empower engineering teams to build market-leading, compliant products.
  • Lead or co-own initiatives that deliver measurable business impact, tracking success criteria and performance outcomes across the organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

 
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years in a Product Management or Technical Program Management working on end user product features
  • Proven experience contributing/driving technical design of product features
  • Experience integrating compliance requirements in product development
  • Ability to identify technical gaps and clearly communicate priorities to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong customer listening and requirement gathering skills 
  • Approach all work with a growth mindset, customer obsession, and relentless curiosity 
  • Drive for results that align with organizational priorities  
 

Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 2+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excels at influencing without authority working effectively across virtual teams.
  • Comfortable diving deep into complex architectural landscapes and ability to quickly understand technical and programmatic concepts, flows, and design.
  • Expertise in applied AI models to enhance product capabilities.
  • Experience building, shipping, and iterating on customer facing experiences.

 

Product Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
