Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (CEO), the summary of this role:
- DCEO(CD) will work closely with and support CEO in the effective management of the organisation by leading the formulation of corporate development strategies to support the Authority's strategic directions and long-term growth;
- DCEO(CD) will assist CEO to enhance collaboration among divisions/ departments and create functional synergies to develop and implement initiatives to drive revenue, businesses and commercial activities;
- DCEO(CD) will have lead responsibility to drive the development of corporate policies and strategies, including human resources management, central procurement, corporate administration with the aim of taking forward WKCDA's strategic visions and business objectives; DCEO(CD) will have lead responsibility to oversee all legal and corporate secretarial functions of WKCDA and its wholly-owned subsidiaries;
- DCEO(CD) will have lead responsibility to manage district operations, with the overall vision for operating the district in accordance with the approved business and corporate plans of WKCDA;
- DCEO(CD) will be responsible for the cost-effective delivery of support services for the core arts and culture facilities and coordination with the external service providers to ensure the district operations meet the service standards set by the Board; and optimization of the outsourcing plan and operational strategy in terms of safety and security, facility management and venue operations to ensure the long-term financial sustainability; and
- DCEO(CD) will have lead responsibility to oversee the work of the WestK Academy, with the aim of taking forward WKCDA's strategic vision to nurture the next generation of museum professionals and arts practitioners.
The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
- a recognised university degree with a reputable institution, preferably with postgraduate qualifications;
- a minimum of 20 years of post-qualification experience, of which at least 15 years at a senior executive level in a multifaceted environment covering strategic development, financial planning and business modelling;
- proven track record in developing, implementing and/or managing large scale arts and cultural or start-up/development projects;
- ability to master a broad range of stakeholder relations in both public and private sectors;
- gravitas and executive presence to effectively represent an organisation in public;
- international exposure, including understanding of the dynamics, politics and challenges of Hong Kong and Asian environment;
- strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work with diverse constituencies such as Board members, stakeholders in both public and private sectors, and government bodies, both within and outside Hong Kong;
- strong commercial and financial acumen, and a track record of success in business management;
- exceptional leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
- experience in the arts and cultural environment is an advantage; and
- fluency in English, Cantonese and Putonghua is required.
