Job Description:

The DevSecOps Engineer plays a critical role in delivering secure, automated, and scalable solutions in support of federal missions. This position drives the integration of security into CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-based environments to enable rapid, reliable deployments. Leveraging expertise across systems engineering, automation, and cybersecurity, the DevSecOps Engineer ensures enterprise platforms remain resilient, compliant with federal security standards, and optimized for performance. 

By enabling secure, efficient, and repeatable engineering practices, the DevSecOps Engineer directly contributes to the reliability of mission-critical systems that federal agencies depend on to achieve operational success. 

What You Will Do:

  • Performs additions, upgrades, and changes to communications, collaboration tools, and enterprise applications to meet evolving mission requirements. 
  • Investigates, analyzes, recommends, configures, installs, and tests new hardware and software solutions for secure communications and collaboration systems. 
  • Provides direct operational support, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving performance or availability issues. 
  • Evaluates system utilization, monitors response times, and ensures system reliability and resiliency. 
  • Detects, diagnoses, and corrects operational problems across network hardware, operating systems, and supporting infrastructure. 
  • Maintains and applies knowledge of secure installation and maintenance practices for hardware, operating systems, and application services in federal environments. 
  • Collaborates with development, security, and operations teams to integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle. 
  • Supports automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code approaches to improve reliability, repeatability, and security. 
  • Documents system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides to support knowledge sharing. 
  • Ensures all implementations comply with federal security standards, policies, and procedures. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Requirements

What We Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or related roles, with demonstrated support for federal programs. 
  • Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of communications, collaboration tools, and enterprise applications. 
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Linux/Windows), networking fundamentals, and system performance monitoring. 
  • Knowledge of security principles, compliance standards, and federal frameworks such as NIST and FedRAMP. 
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including automation, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation). 
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, CloudWatch, ELK stack) for detection and response. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues across enterprise environments. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams. 
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, secure operations, and adoption of industry best practices.
