VUB Instructor, Computer Literacy

Duties and Responsibilities: In this position, you will
35% Provide direct instruction and academic assistance to VUB participants in the area of computer literacy (basic personal technology through mastery of more complex tools like Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google applications, and Canvas Learning Management system)
20% Provide personal direction and academic assistance to each participant
10% Prepare materials for instruction
10% Maintain academic performance and attendance records for each participant
10% Administer tests
10% Complete progress reports for each participant
5% Attend VUB faculty/staff meetings

Required Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Computer Science or related field.

Required Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in classroom teaching. Experience with teaching the adult learner. Sensitivity to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Required Licenses or Certifications: N/A

Preferred Education: Master's Degree

Preferred Experience: Minimum of 3 years teaching in Computer Science or a related field in a higher education or online setting.

Passing a pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
