Job Summary

MCTC Rowan Campus is seeking a dedicated, qualified Police Officer or equivalent to serve as the evening Campus Security Officer, Monday through Thursday (typically 4:30PM to 9:30PM) at the Rowan Campus. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all students, employees, visitors, and property.

Job Duties:

Primary Responsibilities:
• Patrol campus buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter and detect theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activities.
• Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, disturbances, or suspicious activities.
• Enforce campus rules and policies and support local law enforcement as needed.
• Ensure only authorized personnel are present on campus after regular hours.
• Complete and submit incident and daily activity reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate in and support annual safety training, including:
  o   Critical incident response drills
  o   Lockdown procedures
  o   Fire and evacuation drills
• Maintain a professional presence in uniform (uniform requirements to be determined upon hire).
• Collaborate with college staff, law enforcement, and emergency personnel to maintain campus safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification as a law enforcement officer or equivalent experience in security, public safety, or military service.
• Ability to work independently during evening hours.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations.
• Must be able to pass a background check and any additional screenings required by MCTC.
 

Additional Skills Requested:

• • Uniform dress is mandatory; specific uniform standards will be determined upon hire.
• • Officer must complete annual training in campus safety protocols.
• • Must be dependable, punctual, and professional in demeanor.
