Important: This newly created role will help support Industrial Operations Technology (OT) Systems in 60+ manufacturing facilities in 13 countries.  Ability to travel 70% (including internationally) is required.  Experience supporting/managing OT (hardware, software, networking, etc) in industrial and manufacturing equipment in multiple sites is required.

The Operations Technology (OT) Systems – Cybersecurity role is responsible for safeguarding the security, integrity, and resilience of industrial control systems and operational technology infrastructure. This position plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks within manufacturing and production environments.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cybersecurity standards, manage vulnerabilities, support incident response efforts, and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role bridges IT and OT environments, ensuring that cybersecurity strategies are effectively tailored and applied to operational systems without compromising performance or safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Alignment
  • Collaborate closely with the Business and to ensure that operating system technologies support and enhance product development goals.
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications, ensuring that OS platforms meet the needs of product development teams.
  • Provide technical insights during product planning sessions to inform decisions on OS-related features and capabilities.
  • Operating System Management and Cyber
  • Remote Server Systems Oversight
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) across all enterprise systems.
  • Ensure systems and OT applications are patched, updated, and compliant with organizational and security standards. Apply system hardening standards in compliance with industry protocols.
  • Integrate EDR anti-virus solutions across OT end points
  • Identify critical assets and develop and implement disaster recovery and backup procedures to safeguard critical data.
  • Develop and manage global OT asset tracking platform
  • Leverage SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), platforms to correlate logs and respond to events
  • Manage remote server systems, ensuring they are securely configured and consistently monitored.
  • Implement out-of-band management solutions to allow for remote troubleshooting and recovery, even when systems are powered off or unresponsive.
  • Utilize tools for standardized server management and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure
  • Manage firmware updates and leverage remote diagnostics and OT systems health monitoring tools
  • Standardization of Remote Support Methods
  • Enforce system configuration baselines using policies and tools to maintain consistency and compliance across environments
  • Collaborate with IT team to establish and enforce Global standardized procedures for obtaining remote support, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the organization.
  • Maintain remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools to proactively identify and address system issues.
  • Ensure all remote support sessions are conducted securely, adhering to best practices for data protection and access control.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with the IT network, security, and application teams to ensure OT environment is adequately protected from IT/Business environment
  • Ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of OT platforms.
  • Serve as a liaison between IT and product management, translating technical requirements into actionable plans.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure that OS technologies meet organizational standards and requirements.
  • Incident & Problem Management
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex OS-related issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for recurring problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, resolutions, and system configurations.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Stay abreast of emerging OS technologies and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies that can enhance OS performance and reliability.
  • Drive initiatives to optimize OS platforms, focusing on scalability, security, and efficiency.
  • Policy creation and reinforcement

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operating system administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role.
  • Proven experience with enterprise-level OS deployment and management.
  • Minimum of 2 years supporting multi-site manufacturing facilities
  • Ability to travel 70% is required
  • Bilingual is Spanish is preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in Windows Server, Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu), and macOS administration.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with out-of-band management solutions and protocols like Redfish.
  • Proficiency in remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.
  • Knowledge of zero trust architecture in an OT environment

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Salary range of $125,000 to $152,500
