Pure Storage Acquired Portworx in October 2020, Creating the Industry's Most Complete Kubernetes Data Services Platform for Cloud Native Applications. Join us in shaping the future of Kubernetes data management. You'll work at the forefront of application modernization and AI workloads, helping others see what’s possible with Portworx. This role involves creative work designing demos, crafting unique stories, and engaging directly with some of the most innovative customers and technical communities. Get hands-on with cutting-edge technologies—from application modernization to AI/ML workloads—and see firsthand how work influences product direction and customer adoption. This role offers a front-row seat to the evolution and adoption of Kubernetes, the chance to build a personal brand in the CNCF ecosystem, and the opportunity to make a visible impact across technical and business audiences. Most of all, become part of a collaborative, supportive team of genuinely nice people who are passionate about what they do.
- Content Creation & Delivery: Consistently develop high-impact content, including blog posts, white papers, social media snippets, solution briefs, and technical demos, tailored for multiple audiences. Ensure all materials clearly align customer pain points and industry trends with Portworx’s unique value.
- Thought Leadership & Community Engagement: Increase Portworx’s industry visibility by building and nurturing a speaker bureau, securing speaking opportunities at conferences, hosting community events, and advising customers throughout the sales cycle.
- Technical Expertise: Develop into a recognized expert on Portworx products, industry use cases, buyer personas, and the competitive landscape. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, relatable stories for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Voice of the Customer: Act as the voice of the customer. Gather and synthesize insights about user needs, challenges, and aspirations to inform the product roadmap and support engineering and product teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, technical marketing, alliances, demand generation, field marketing, and sales teams to ensure messaging consistency and effective go-to-market strategies.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
- Experience in technical marketing, product marketing, solution marketing, or product management in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Recognized as an engaging speaker and strong writer who can translate technical messaging into compelling narratives. We’d love to see samples of your work.
- Understanding of platform engineering, developer experience best practices, and modern cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, open-source data services, data protection, virtualization).
- In-depth knowledge of key audiences: Platform Engineers, DevOps, Cloud Architects, SREs, IT infrastructure managers, and IT Decision Makers.
- Stay current with Kubernetes, container storage, AI and cloud-native trends to keep Portworx content and demos relevant.
- Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work with both internal teams and external audiences.
- Growth mindset: Eager to challenge the status quo, deliver best-in-class work, and continuously learn.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations.
This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
