We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our engineering team for a digital transformation project. You will play a key role in developing and implementing robust, scalable backend services for a modern portal. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for building services, APIs, and integrations that support seven critical insurance lines while ensuring high performance, security, and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities:Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Express.js frameworkDesign and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for frontend and external integrationsBuild services architecture following best practices for distributed systemsDevelop secure authentication and authorization systems using OAuth 2.0 and JWTCreate integration APIs for Microsoft Entra ID SSO and external partner systemsImplement business logic for workflows, claims processing, and policy managementWrite comprehensive unit tests and integration tests ensuring 90%+ code coverageFollow security best practices including data encryption, PII masking, and audit loggingCollaborate with frontend developers to design efficient API contracts and data modelsParticipate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
Requirements:Experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScriptExperience with Express.js, Fastify, or similar Node.js frameworksProficient in RESTful API design and development with proper HTTP status codes and error handlingExperience with PostgreSQL including complex queriesKnowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML) and security best practicesProficient with Git version control and collaborative development workflowsExperience with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, or similar)Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems conceptsKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automationStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailCommunication and teamwork skills
