Technical Services Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Technical Services Engineer – Structures to join our team at AirAsia X Berhad. This role is crucial in ensuring structural integrity and reliability across our Airbus fleet. You'll be providing expert technical support, preparing engineering documentation, and working closely with OEMs, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to resolve complex structural issues.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for aircraft structural issues under ATA chapters 32, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, and 57.
• Ensure timely and effective support for day-to-day aircraft operations.
• Prepare and issue technical documentation in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with OEMs, vendors, authorities, and other technical sources for issue resolution and engineering analysis.
• Evaluate continuing airworthiness data and present sentencing recommendations to the Modification Evaluation Meeting.
• Develop and provide approved technical data for inspections, repairs, and modifications outside the Structural Repairs Manual.
• Maintain and update the Structural Damage Reports (Dent and Buckle Charts) for each aircraft.
• Assist the Reliability section in root cause analysis for abnormal wear, recurring defects, or premature component removals.
• Participate in development studies and propose recommendations to enhance aircraft dispatch reliability.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits and compliance monitoring programs.
• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the Technical Services Manager. 

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline from a recognized institution. 

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working with Airbus aircraft is preferred.
• Prior involvement in project management, research, or community-based projects will be an added advantage. 

Competencies:

• Strong team player with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Flexible and willing to work ad hoc hours to support operational requirements.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and technical writing ability.
