General Description: The Director of Radiation Oncology Services reports to Assistant Vice President of Operations. The Director of Radiation Oncology Services provides leadership, oversight, and clinical direction for all radiation oncology services within the organization. Responsible for ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective patient care through the management of clinical operations, staff, technology, and compliance with regulatory standards. Oversee treatment planning, delivery, and quality assurance processes, working closely with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists to deliver advanced cancer care. Accountable for program growth, financial stewardship, and continuous improvement initiatives that support the mission, vision and values of Parrish healthcare. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare. 
Key Responsibilities:
HEALING COMMUNITIES | GROWTH
 
  • Leads and directs strategic planning within assigned functional areas to anticipate current and future service solutions; influences the innovation, development, and growth of service strategies; assures the achievement of departmental dashboard metrics within each strategic pillar (People, Service, Quality, Growth, Finance); takes immediate and effective steps to assure national benchmarks are achieved or sustained. 
  • Within scope of authority, oversee the development of systems (both manual and automated) to properly support practice-wide activities based upon business need. Directs the coordination of hardware and software requirements of existing and future systems. 
  • Monitors, analyzes, assesses, and communicates practice progress. Considers present and planned capacity. In financial terms, considers manpower and practice needs, including facilities and technology. 
  • Oversee development and coordination of new office locations and their needs as required. 
  • Supervises all practice staff. Clinical work direction provided by physicians.

  •  Leads and directs development and maintenance of systems, processes, policies, and procedures that result in assigned care partners always providing excellent customer service as measured by HCAHPS and/or other national customer service best-practice benchmarks. 
SYSTEM RELIABILITY | QUALITY & SAFETY  
  • Develops, leads, directs and/or maintains systems, processes, policies, and procedures that result in a continuous improvement environment within which assigned care partners always achieve national best/leading-practice standards for quality and excellence as measured by HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies pertinent to areas of responsibility; holding self and others accountable for actions and outcomes. 
  • Develops, leads, and/or directs policy formulation, implementation, and adherence. Responsible for the adherence to all Parrish Healthcare policies and procedures as well as regulations and codes established by federal, state, and local governments affecting professional practice and industry regulations. Leads necessary certification, accreditation, and audit procedures; and ensures that reports required by regulatory agencies are prepared and submitted within established timeframes. 
  • Directs the preparation and maintenance of management reports necessary to carry out functions of practice. Prepares periodic reports as necessary or required.

  • Maintains skills and knowledge within professional practice of self and within assigned functional area(s); able to step in and serve as back up to assigned care partners to cover staffing needs as necessary. 
COMMUNITY INVESTMENT | FINANCE 
  • Develops, leads, directs and/or maintains systems, processes, policies, and procedures that result in effective planning and administration of annual budget(s); productive, cost efficient and effective operations; and corrective actions for any operating expenses that deviate from budget.  Performs other duties as assigned. Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area. 
Requirements:
Formal Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required. 
  • Majors Required: Radiation Oncology (preferred), Radiologic Science, Health, or Business-related field.
Work Experience:
  • 5 years to <7 years supervisory experience
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
  • ARRT Registered RT (T), Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD), or Registered Nurse (RN) required. 
  • BLS through The American Heart Association (within 90 days of employment). 
  • Specialty Certification preferred 
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (required within first year of hire).
