Core Responsibilities

  • Revise, draft and negotiate all types and levels of contracts.
  • Develop guidelines for contract management and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Advise on matters with implication beyond the contract in question.
  • Make assessments and decisions on relevant scenarios.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to senior management and various departments on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with executives on corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Offer training and mentorship to internal collaborators on legal compliance and corporate policies.
  • May handle large and sophisticated projects or processes independently.
  • Lead and coordinate external collaborators at medium to high complexity.
  • Work independently, be a recognized subject matter authority, able to mentor others, tasks are independently identified and defined.
  • Interact directly with senior management, independently handling conflicts in negotiations.
  • Typically, end-of-end perspective including understanding tradeoffs for different scenarios.

In this role, you will help protect the LEGO® brand from potential legal repercussions while offering innovative legal mentorship in the dynamic legal landscape. Join our team of professionals in the Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management team (LCR), comprising more than 100 specialists based in our offices worldwide. Based in Billund, Denmark, you provide legal support to business units in the Product and Marketing Development organization. Here, you stay ahead of relevant legislation in various legal areas such as contracts, intellectual property, and marketing law, primarily regarding consumer-engaging initiatives.

Our goal is to make LEGO products and experiences accessible to a wider range of children worldwide. You will play an important role in protecting the famous LEGO brand against risk of legal harm while also helping to ensure that we develop and remain relevant and “cool” to core LEGO users.

Do You Have What It Takes ?

  • MA in law, LLB, Juris Doctorate, MSc in business administration and commercial law or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of (postgraduate) legal experience from an in-house role at a global company or mid-level private practice position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with strong legal drafting skills.
  • Experience with trademark and copyright licensing, contract law, and intellectual property.
  • Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Legal curiosity as well as an appetite and ability to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.
  • A positive outlook and a distinct can-do attitude.
  • Experience in global or high-value brand organizations.
  • Excellent at collaborating with local and global teams.
  • Identifying legal risk and making recommendations to the relevant business stakeholders
