VP, Technical Program Management and Affiliate Relations

The CW Television Network is currently looking for VP, Technical Program Management and Affiliate Relations. This position reports to the SVP, Distribution and Affiliate Marketing, and is responsible for leading the technical program management efforts for the CW and overseeing affiliate relations with technical leaders at local affiliated stations. This role interfaces across all Nexstar and CW cross-functional teams, with affiliated stations, and with product partners (e.g., NASCAR).

Reports to SVP Affiliate Distribution and Marketing

Direct Reports Include: Manager, Affiliate Operations

Technical Program Management

• Senior executive liaison with affiliates with regards to technical programs and station operations.
• Responsible for the management and execution of all technological program management including:
• Encompass Digital Media CW related projects.
• Linear VOD workflow management, including onboarding new MVPDs for VOD, management of third-party vendors, Canoe, Freewheel, etc., and various ancillary issues.
• Managing the execution of affiliate systems upgrades and deployments.
• Managing alternative signal delivery per vMVPD specified requirements.

Affiliate Relations

• Technical escalation POC for all vMVPDs regarding CW affiliates and large/small market contingency feed issues.
• Troubleshoot station feed issues with affiliate engineering teams.
• Manage feed launch tasks with stations and vMVPDs
• Liaison to vendor partners for hardware deployments.
• Technical onboarding for new affiliates related to affiliation changes.
• Provide Technical resource support for the affiliate relations and distribution teams.

Live Event Support

• Responsible for all live event affiliate standard operating procedures development and distribution
• Coordination of affiliate “listen lines” for all live events
• Host affiliate bridge during live events and field all affiliates questions of issues
• Management of BAS alerts and CW Link Alerts for affiliate technical communication
• Management of alternative feeds and communications for live events in the instance of overruns, etc.
• Management of all internal event reporting

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field.
• Management Experience: 10+ years in technical media management; 5+ in executive leadership positions.
• Project Management Experience: 10+ years of project management experience executing on numerous projects to support the overall CW distribution strategy.
• Strategy Experience: Demonstrated success building strategies and executing at scale.
• Collaboration: Resourceful, competitive executive with a strong sense of urgency, while knowing how to work collaboratively to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities.
