Job Description:

The Senior Integrated Logistics Support Engineer is a key member of the Defense Engineering Systems team. Defense Engineering Systems manages Product/Defense Engineering aspects of business development and execution processes, including:

  • Proposal development and finalization with internal and external customers including OEMs and End-Users
  • Contractual and Regulatory compliance including training execution
  • Licensee agreement development/amendments/renewals
  • Defense Engineering financial budgeting and forecasting
  • Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) deliverables including Allison Cross-Drive product Technical Manuals and supporting documentation

The Senior Logistics Engineer role will include planning, estimating, negotiating, executing, and delivering ILS information in support of program and contract development and execution. The Senior Logistics Engineer will work closely with stakeholders in Engineering, Training & Publications, Legal, Contracts, Customer Support, Program Management, and Business Development.

Responsibilities:

  • ILS Customer / Program Point of Contact
  • Manage projects that leverage internal and external resources
  • Leads cross-functional team in development of Basis of Estimate (BOE) for proposals
  • Leads development of Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Engineering Drawings for Provisioning (EDFP)
  • Supports development of Defense End Market Technical Manuals and Training Materials
  • Supports development of ILS Strategies, Processes, Procedure & Schedules
  • Understands and communicates DoD/Foreign Defense Program support strategies and requirements
  • Facilitates Defense Engineering development and compliance with applicable internal procedures and processes related to ILS

Qualifications And Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or Associate degree combined with significant relevant experience in ILS
  • A minimum of seven years of experience with ILS in the Defense industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills along with strong editing, formatting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read, interpret and modify technical information such as specifications, drawings, models, test reports, etc.
  • Experience writing proposals, contracts, and other agreements
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, especially with highly technical engineers
  • Attention to detail and dedication to record keeping
  • Able to perform a variety of complex tasks with a degree of creativity and latitude
  • Demonstrable competence in Adobe and MS Office tools
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to change direction for competing priorities
  • Ability to drive work, others, and projects to complete goals
  • Preferred:
  • Degree in mechanical, electrical, automotive, or system engineering
  • Experience with ILS for defense ground vehicles
  • A minimum of three years technical writing experience for an industrial/manufacturing company
  • Demonstrable technical aptitude; strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with automatic transmission, propulsion systems, or heavy-duty vehicles
  • Experience with XML and tagging
  • Ability to perform Screening (identify common hardware NSNs)
  • Familiarity with NATO standards
  • Experience using SAP
