Reporting directly to the Director Human Resources within the Human Resources department, the Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate communication, enrollment, and compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
Responsibilities:
• Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness offerings.
• Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and questions, ensuring a high level of customer service.
• Process and maintain benefit-related documentation, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment.
• Maintain accurate employee benefit records in the HRIS and ensure timely updates with benefit providers.
• Coordinate leave of absence programs (FMLA, state leave, personal leave, workers’ compensation) in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Reconcile benefits invoices and work with payroll to ensure accurate deductions.
• Partner with brokers, carriers, and vendors to resolve benefit-related issues.
• Assist with benefits-related communications, training sessions, and wellness initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable laws.
• Support HR projects and provide backup to other HR team members as needed.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role.
• Strong knowledge of employee benefit laws and compliance requirements (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA, HIPAA).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong mathematical and analytical skills to manage data, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to effectively communicate benefits information to a diverse workforce.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service mindset.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Compensation: $23.50 to $25.00 per hour
