Who are we?

We want to be the best place that any of our 6,600 colleagues have ever worked.

We’re Phoenix Group, we’re a long-term savings and retirement business. We offer a range of products across our market-leading brands, Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.

The role

We’re looking for a dynamic and commercially astute Group Procurement & Partner Manager to lead procurement category & strategic sourcing strategies for Market Data services.

This is a high-impact category within our Asset Management & Product category team, and represents a unique opportunity to shape procurement strategy in a FTSE 100 financial services organisation, where your work will directly influence profitability, risk management and competitive advantage.

You’ll be a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, driving end-to-end procurement initiatives from supplier identification and negotiation to contract management and continuous improvement. Your category leadership will elevate the role of GPPM across the business, delivering tangible value and innovation in a regulated environment.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Category Leadership: Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with departmental and organisational goals, with a focus on Market Data services.

Supplier selection and management: Identify, assess, and commercially manage end-to-end relationships with suppliers to ensure the delivery of high quality, best value products and services.

Sourcing and negotiation: Own the strategic sourcing process, negotiating robust commercial and contractual terms that protect business interests and drive long-term value.

Cost & Value Optimisation: Implement cost transformation strategies including, but not limited to, demand management, volume consolidation, specification optimisation, cost re-engineering and process efficiencies.

Risk & Compliance Oversight: Proactively manage risks associated with sourcing activities, including regulatory changes, ESG standards (Environmental, Social and Governance), supplier risks, contract risks and ensure business continuity.

Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Risk, and senior business executives to align procurement outcomes with strategic priorities.

Innovation & Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives with the GPPM Centre of Excellence team ensuring that procurement and third-party management best practices and technology is adopted to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the wider function.

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrable depth of experience working in a similar, indirect Procurement lead/manager role (preferably involving Market Data and/or Asset Management services).
  • Strategic mindset with a track record of delivering commercial value through adoption of a strategic approach to indirect Procurement, from defining category scope through to on-going execution and evolution of category strategy.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels of an organisation in an indirect Procurement capacity.
  • Strong commercial and contractual negotiation capabilities, with experience managing complex supplier relationships and procurement projects.
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems and financial services regulation, with MCIPS qualification (or working towards) considered an advantage.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so apply early to avoid missing out.
