Full Time
Provide mechanical/electronics maintenance and repair for downhole equipment and tubulars. Follow work instructions and quality control check lists. Support tubular inspectors with proper technical data and back up on these activities. Daily reporting to Lead technicians.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
- Maintain daily contact with lead technicians and supervisors to get daily activities and plan of action.
- Report all testing data to the lead tech.
- Technically supporting assembling and troubleshooting procedures on various product lines.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting tubulars, inserts, seals, connections with inspections.
- Where warranted, generate and follow up Nonconformance Reports for technical investigation till closed.
- Follow procedures on any engineering change notices (ECN) to incorporate improvement.
- Maintain daily link with Inventory, global asset, administrative assistant about production orders, and their status.
- Contact lead technicians, supervisors or R&M Manager about assembly drawings and bill of materials.
- Daily link with service and repair to get all assemblies and parts shipped.
- Keep spread sheet data properly updated about any assembling activities.
- Full cross training on tubular inspection.
- Daily usage of PPE as required.
- On a “24 hour” on-call rotational shift, as requested.
Knowledge, Education and Experience
- Good mechanical and electronics knowledge with ability to read mechanical layouts and parts drawings
- Logical mindset with strong organizational skills
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent communication and team support skills
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Basic mechanical skills
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically able to lift/move a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to respond to emergencies without assistance
- Must be able to interpret, read, write, and speak fluently in the English language
- Position may require working in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines
- Must be comfortable with repetitive tasks and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
- Must be able to work in a shop environment with heavy equipment
Health and Safety Requirements
- Possess current H2S certificate (Weatherford provided)
- First Aid certification (Weatherford provided)
- Petroleum Safety Training (PST)
- WHMIS certification (Weatherford provided)
- Hazard ID training (Weatherford provided)
- Comply with all Weatherford safety requirements and Non-negotiable Rules
- Must be fit for duty
Safety Compliance
Employee must work in a safe and responsible manner at all times and comply with any and all safety regulations set forth by Weatherford and the facility/site they are working in. This includes:
- Adhering to Weatherford's driving policy regarding company vehicles with satellite monitoring systems
- Proper operation of facility equipment such as forklifts
- Documenting and reporting of Hazard IDs and near-miss incidents
- Wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
