About The Role:

The College of Science and Engineering is seeking an Associate Professor or Professor to contribute to the quality research, planning and delivery of undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching within the discipline of Geospatial Science.

As an Associate Professor or Professor in Geospatial Science, you will drive high-quality research by publishing in leading journals, securing competitive grants, mentoring early-career researchers, supervising higher degree students, and strengthening collaborations with industry, government, and community partners. You will also play a key role in shaping innovative curriculum and teaching, developing engaging learning materials, delivering lectures and tutorials, leading accreditation processes, and supporting placement education.

This position is open to international candidates and relocation and visa support is available.

About You:

You are a visionary academic leader, committed to advancing the reputation of Geospatial Science and Surveying through excellence in teaching and research. You foster a student-focused learning environment, inspire colleagues, and drive innovation. You actively build collaborations, mentor early-career researchers, and contribute to the wider discipline locally, nationally, and internationally.

Candidates will be considered at Level D or E depending on experience. In this position, you will also demonstrate:

  • Completion of a PhD in Geospatial Science or a closely related area.
  • An established international reputation in research, evidenced by sustained high-quality publications and significant external research funding.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching Surveying (Engineering, Cadastral, Hydrographic, Positioning & Timing, or Geodetic) and GIS at tertiary level
  • Proven experience supervising Honours and Research Higher Degree students.
