We are now seeking a Senior Paralegal / Specialist – Export Controls & KYC to join our U.S. operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional that would thrive in a role crucial in ensuring that MSAB continues to operate within the highest legal and ethical standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain and further develop trade compliance policies.
• Conduct screening and due diligence activities to support compliant business operations.
• Assisting with research and gathering information relevant to the business and be updated on regulatory and compliance developments.
• Manage licensing and reporting processes, including the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
• Representing legal in cross-functional meetings and collaborating with Sales, Finance, Production, etc. to align compliance practices across the organization.
• Maintain records in accordance to regulations and internal policies.
• Other paralegal/legal work and support as necessary in the business.

Your Profile

• Educational background: Law degree or Paralegal degree, or equivalent education in trade compliance.
• Experience: Several years of experience in export controls, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house roles in legal departments.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting legal processes and compliance best practices. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in the software industry; familiarity with encryption items is a plus.
• Familiarity with legal operations tech tools. Ability to develop operating procedures.
• Strong attention to detail. Proven ability to identify, manage, and communicate legal risks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong commitment to compliance, integrity and ethical standards.
