About the Role

The Market Risk Department (MRD) in Asia provides independent oversight of the Firm’s trading activities, serving as a second line of defense. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight and monitoring of the Firm’s overall trading businesses, risk limit setting, risk assessment and stress loss analysis, and management and regulatory reporting.

Job Description

• Market Risk Coverage VP covering Asia Macro (FX / Rates) and HK Bank LE.  

• Asia Macro coverage will inclined (but not limited to) North Asia.

• Will lead legal entity market risk coverage for MSBAL entity which is the HK Bank entity regulated by the HKMA.

• Responsible for market risk limits, trade approvals, day to day risk monitoring, senior updates.

• Liaising with global/regional market risk and FRM stakeholders.

• Interacting with trading, first line risk management (TRM), finance and other stakeholders.

• Ability to automate reporting, risk aggregation in Python would be a beneficial.

• Comfort in dealing with large amounts of data and ability to visualize data in dashboards.

Experience

• 6y – 8y prior risk management or markets experience.

• Knowledge of FX / Rates markets with an EM slant is a key benefit.

• Technical knowledge on fixed income derivatives pricing and risks.

• Treasury and banking book knowledge is not compulsory but would be a plus.
