The University of Louisville School of Public Health & Information Sciences (SPHIS) seeks candidates for a full-time, term faculty position at the assistant professor level with an appointment in the Department of Health Management and Systems Sciences (HMSS).
Preferred Qualifications
- The successful candidate will have completed doctoral studies in health administration (or a directly related field) and demonstrate a clear capacity to effectively develop health organization leaders to serve competently, applying principles of population health management.
- The candidate hired will maintain a faculty appointment within HMSS, providing teaching, academic advising, career counseling, and service primarily for the department’s CAHME-accredited, US News-nationally ranked Master of Science in Health Administration (MSHA) program in both on-campus and online classroom delivery.
- The preferred applicant should be academically and/or professionally qualified to teach various courses in healthcare management, specifically within the MSHA curriculum.
- The ideal candidate should have experience as a practitioner of healthcare management, having successfully served in leadership and management roles within healthcare organizations, and/or earned board certification as a healthcare executive.
Established in 2002, SPHIS distinguished itself among schools of public health as one that integrates how information about the public’s health is acquired, evaluated, acted upon, and disseminated, as well as subsequent impacts on public health. The University of Louisville MSHA program has been serving students as a CAHME-accredited, nationally ranked program since 2018. MSHA students have achieved national, regional, and state acclaim, including selection for competitive administrative fellowships, national case study competitions, graduate essay contests, and scholarships. The MSHA program is growing, team achievement-focused, and dedicated to program values of Caring, Altruism, Responsibility, Dedication, and Service-orientation (CARDS).
