Lecturer: American Politics & Political Campaigning
Classification Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field at the time of appointment. Job Description:The Department of Political Science at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time recurring Lecturer position in American Politics and Political Campaigning to begin August 16, 2026. The prospective hire is expected to contribute to our department’s strengths in American Politics, as well as our undergraduate and master’s level programs in Political Campaigning. Applicants should be able to offer courses at the graduate and undergraduate level and should be willing to advise undergraduate political science majors, assist with coordinating campaigning-related experiential learning opportunities for undergraduates, and supervise capstone projects for our MA students. We are especially interested in candidates who can teach some or all of the following courses: Political Parties and Elections, Modern Political Campaigns, Political Campaigning, Advanced Campaign Strategy, Survey Research, and State and Local Politics.
The normal teaching assignment is three courses per fall and three courses per spring semester.
Expected Salary:The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.
