About the role
Mater is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Billing Officer to join the team at our Newstead campus on a full-time, or part-time (0.8 FTE) maximum term contract (11 months). This position offers the chance to play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes that support high-quality patient care, all within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Salary range: $46.96 – $51.73 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all chargeable items are captured and processed accurately in a timely manner. You will:
- Coordinate and complete billing documentation to record all relevant charges
- Enter CMBS item numbers, prosthesis items, and reconcile billing data
- Liaise with practice managers, billing, and supply staff to ensure accuracy
- Run reports, perform reconciliations, and support strong working relationships across teams
About you
You will be a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, committed to delivering outstanding service. To be successful, you will bring:
- Extensive knowledge of CMBS numbers and prosthesis items
- Experience in health fund billing and/or debtor management
- Strong data entry, administrative, and billing/accounting skills
- Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills, including handling sensitive financial conversations
- A collaborative approach with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
