Are you passionate about aquatic safety, leadership, and providing exceptional community experiences?

We’re looking for an Aquatics Team Leader Outdoor Pools to join our team at various Leisure Centres. In this role, you’ll lead and support our Lifeguard team to ensure the safe, smooth, and efficient operation of our pools, while delivering high-quality service to the community.

About the role

Reporting to the Aquatics/Centre Coordinator, you’ll play a hands-on leadership role, working alongside your team as a Shift Supervisor and will be required to Lifeguard or work on reception, when required.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily aquatic operations, including staff supervision, pool plant maintenance, and customer safety.
  • Leading and developing a team of Lifeguards to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Ensuring water quality and compliance with health regulations.
  • Supporting roster management and operational planning.
  • Maintaining pool surrounds and equipment to a high standard.
  • Assisting patrons with enquiries and ensuring a welcoming, positive experience.

This is a varied role where you’ll work closely with the community, problem-solve in real time, and help create a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons.

We’re looking for Aquatics Team Leader Outdoor Pools to work across the following;

  • North Bellarine Aquatic Centre
  • Kardinia Aquatic Centre
  • Lara Swimming Pool

Work type: Contract until 31 March 2026

Classification: Band 4 Commencing at $37.35 p/h plus super

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications:

  • Pool Lifeguard Qualification
  • Provide First Aid Certificate
  • Working with Children Check

Experience & skills:

  • Significant experience in aquatic operations and customer service, with supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of pool plant operations and water safety compliance.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and other technology.
  • Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
