About Our Group:

Factory Sustainable Engineering (FSE) mission is to ensure the long-term sustainability of HGA factory’s manufacturing systems and processes. We introduce new technologies, develop innovative solutions and improvement projects to maintain and enhance the manufacturing system, ensuring it consistently meets Seagate’s product requirements. Our work encompasses equipment software development, process improvement, and technology enhancement to support and sustain HGA manufacturing operations.

About The Role - You Will:

  • Lead and Align Cross-Functional Efforts: Lead the automation expert team and cross-functional groups to enhance existing processes and equipment, and proactively introduce new technologies, processes, or equipment when opportunities arise. Prioritize work across teams and ensure alignment with business goals and factory performance targets
  • Collaborate and Communicate Across Stakeholders: Partner with product design, equipment engineering, process development, and factory teams to understand requirements, implement solutions, and optimize control methods. Communicate effectively with executive leadership and stakeholders to ensure transparency and shared understanding
  • Architect and Deliver Technical Solutions: Translate business needs and operational challenges into scalable, reliable engineering solutions. Oversee the development and validation of automation equipment and processes, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps and innovation goals
  • Solve Complex Engineering Challenges: Investigate and resolve complex equipment and process issues using structured problem-solving, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making. Apply appropriate methods and evaluation criteria to achieve effective outcomes
  • Coach and Develop Engineering Talent: Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, including coaching emerging leaders. Define and execute development plans, roadmaps, and growth activities to foster a challenge-driven mindset and build a team of future-ready technology experts
  • Network and Share Technology Across Communities: Collaborate with other technology leadership teams to share innovations, best practices, and technical insights across areas and communities. Promote cross-site learning and alignment to accelerate continuous improvement and technology adoption

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical/Electronic, Software, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Skilled in translating complex technical concepts for non-engineering stakeholders
  • Strong capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in dynamic environments
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Effective mentoring, training, and presentation across diverse audiences
  • Familiar with factory financials including ROI and budgeting
  • Fluent in English

Your Experience Includes:

  • Over 12 years of experience in automation equipment and process development
  • Proven leadership of engineering comprising more than 10 headcounts
  • Strong background in automation equipment
  • Skilled in equipment optimization, issue investigation, and debugging
  • Experienced in AI/ML applications, data analysis tools, and equipment process development
  • Proficient in experimental design, DFM, and CTQ transfer functions
  • Knowledgeable in GD&T and stack-up analysis
  • Applied expertise in LEAN, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
