Job Title: Intern - IT Infrastructure

Location: Infomate Head Office, Colombo 01

Shift: 8.30 am - 5.00 pm

Job Responsibilities

• Configure and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices for new users.
• Install and update software, and set up user accounts and access permissions.
• Maintain accurate records of device assignments and inventory.

• Monitor and troubleshoot basic network issues (LAN, Wi-Fi).
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure stable connectivity.
• Manage user access to shared resources and tools (e.g., printers, shared drives).

• Communicate with vendors regarding device deliveries, warranty claims, and routine servicing.
• Follow up on service tickets and provide timely updates to the IT team.

• Provide first-level support to staff for hardware or connectivity issues under supervision.
• Assist with routine device health checks and compliance tracking (antivirus, updates, etc.).

• Maintain accurate documentation of tasks and support provided.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and network concepts.

• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and basic networking tools is an added advantage.
