Job Purpose
The Executive, Maintenance Standards assists his managers in promoting a strong Quality culture within RMG to drive maintenance excellence. He helps to maintenance standards by referencing across to industrial best practices, and translating these to training curricula to strengthen the foundational skills of our technical workforce. By analysing maintenance performance data and audit insights, the Executive identifies skill gaps and collaborates to design competency-based training. He helps to strengthen SMRT Trains' maintenance standards and work practices across all maintenance units as well as reviewing training authorisation processes and policies.
Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of Executive, Maintenance Standards are as listed below. Note that the list is not comprehensive and related duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time.
- Develop targeted training programs and curricula to strengthen foundational maintenance skills, focusing on competency-based continuous learning for SMRT’s technical teams.
- Analyse maintenance performance data, audit outcomes, and feedback to identify technical skill gaps and improvement areas.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align maintenance standards and training with operational goals and best practices.
- Review policies, processes, and authorisation frameworks to ensure consistent implementation and compliance with approved maintenance standards and training practices.
- Conduct risk-based audits and inspections to ensure compliance with established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Prepare reports to senior management on maintenance standards compliance, training outcomes, and areas for improvement.
Qualifications & Work Experience
Qualifications and work experience include:
- BSc Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related fields
- 2 years of experience in Maintenance, Training, and Quality Assurance role.
- Experience in Public Transport or MRO is preferred.
Skills
Technical skills include:
- Basic knowledge in designing competency-based training curricula and programs to enhance technical skills and ensure compliance with maintenance standards.
- Basic knowledge with ISO 9001 standards and experience in establishing and managing QMS for maintenance functions.
- Working knowledge learning management systems (LMS) and digital tools for training delivery and tracking performance.
- Ability to analyze audit data using tools like Microsoft Excel or Power BI to identify trends and compliance gaps.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation, data analysis, and presentations.
Generic skills include:
- Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
