Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer – Power BI

Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer with 3–6 years of experience to join our analytics team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI (Embedded and Cloud), datamart management, and PostgreSQL, with exposure to AWS Data Migration Services. This role involves building scalable dashboards, optimizing performance for large datasets, and integrating analytics into enterprise applications. The candidate should demonstrate strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, create, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI using both built-in and extended visualization templates.
• Use mock-ups and proof-of-concept reports to validate requirements and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
• Maintain and manage datamarts, setting up new datasets from application schemas.
• Work with PostgreSQL and AWS Data Migration Service to ensure smooth data movement and integration.
• Implement role-based (RLS) and object-level (OLS) security models to enforce data access controls across enterprise hierarchies.
• Ensure BI solutions adhere to data security and governance standards.
• Optimize Power BI in-memory processing to deliver performant dashboards, even with large-scale datasets and high user interaction demands.
• Integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics solutions for seamless user experiences.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and product teams to understand requirements, provide insights, and deliver BI solutions on time.
• Contribute to testing, deployment, and ongoing support of BI solutions.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services and other cloud-based analytics tools.

Qualifications, Skills, And Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in BI development with a strong focus on Power BI (Embedded & Cloud).
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and AWS Data Migration Service.
• Strong expertise in designing, developing, testing, and deploying Power BI dashboards.
• Experience implementing data security controls including RLS and OLS.
• Ability to optimize dashboards for performance and scalability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred experience in client-facing communication and requirement gathering.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services is a plus.
