At Stoneridge, we're looking for a proactive Supplier Quality (Development) Engineer to strengthen our supply chain and ensure the highest standards of product quality and innovation.

  • About the Role
  • As a Supplier Development Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of building and nurturing partnerships with global suppliers.

You will lead initiatives to improve product quality, launch new products, solve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement across diverse manufacturing processes including injection molding, PCBA, casting, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build supplier excellence: Evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers to meet automotive quality standards.
  • Drive quality performance: Create and enforce inspection plans and control systems to prevent nonconforming materials.
  • Lead audits and improvements: Conduct layered audits and foster sustainable improvements, even with underperforming suppliers.
  • Resolve complex issues: Collaborate across teams to manage quality issues, containment actions, and cost recovery processes.
  • Optimize performance: Monitor supplier KPIs, uncover trends, and lead proactive improvement initiatives.
  • Mitigate supply chain risk: Identify and eliminate potential quality and compliance issues.
  • Champion continuous improvement: Work cross-functionally to optimize quality and reduce costs throughout the supply base.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Quality Engineering (or 10+ years of relevant experience in Automotive/Supplier Quality).
  • Strong communication skills in English and preferable Dutch.
  • Proven expertise in quality tools and standards: ISO 9001, IATF, AIAG, VDA, APQP, PPAP.
  • A hands-on, problem-solving mindset (Six Sigma Green Belt, Kepner-Tregoe, Shainin is a plus).
  • A strong understanding of various manufacturing processes.
  • Eligibility to work in the Netherlands (valid work visa required).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30 days per year in Europe and Asia.
  • This position requires at least 4 days a week on location in Barneveld.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor degree, (technical) Business administration
  • Familiarity with various processes in the manufacturing industry such as CNC machining, aluminum injection molding, plastic injection molding, sheet metal processing, printed circuit board production, wire harness production and optical lenses.
  • Experience in conducting supplier (process) audits, sharing the audit outcome, and following up on actions resulting from these audits. During an audit, you are expected to be able to express yourself well to the supplier's management team.
  • Experience in reading technical drawings, knowledge of associated measuring equipment.
