Position Overview

We are seeking a Ropes Access Level III NDE Technician with strong nondestructive testing experience. Candidates with certifications in UT Thickness, MT II, PT II, and RT II are highly preferred.

The NDE Technician will be responsible for performing calibrations, conducting nondestructive tests, and making evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations in accordance with written instructions and applicable standards. Level II Technicians are expected to set up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate test results, and provide guidance to Assistants and Level I Technicians.

This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform specialized inspections in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ropes access work as a Level III Technician, including oversight of safe access and rescue procedures.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate nondestructive testing equipment.
• Conduct inspections using UT, MT, PT, and RT methods to ensure quality or detect discontinuities.
• Establish proper examination techniques while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations.
• Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
• Interpret radiographs, digital readouts, conductivity meters, CRTs, and visual indicators.
• Organize, document, and report NDT results accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide training and supervision to Assistants and Level I Technicians.
• Perform specialized inspections as required.
• Carry out other job-related duties as assigned by management.
• IRATA or SPRAT Level III Rope Access Certification.

• NDT Level II RT with OJT and state card.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• NDT Level II UT Thickness, MT, and PT certifications.
• Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience performing and interpreting results of inspections.
• Must complete and pass a DISA background check.
• Must complete and pass all required drug screenings.
• Must complete and pass site-specific safety council training.

Requirements

• Must successfully test out in all required methods with XCEL.
