SUMMARYWorking under general supervision, the Commissary Inventory Analyst & Material Planner will oversee the forecasting, procurement, and monitoring of raw materials and packaging to support continuous production in a high-volume food manufacturing environment. Success in this role requires precise demand planning, timely purchasing, and active collaboration with production, quality assurance, and vendor partners. The position plays a vital role in ensuring materials are available on time, meet GMP/SQF quality standards, and are stored properly to minimize waste and optimize efficiency. Employees in this position may interact with their leader daily to receive guidance and feedback. Most non-routine activities may require their leader’s advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.
-Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

- Collaborate with commissary leadership and KH Innovation to forecast ingredient and packaging needs, including seasonal and holiday demand, and source new raw materials as needed.
- Partner with QA and Accounting to set up new vendors and materials in the Flexibake ERP system, maintain vendor pricing and CRM data, and ensure documentation meets GMP/SQF requirements.
- Attend production planning meetings to align purchasing schedules with production changes; track inventory daily and report shortages, overages, or best-by date concerns to prevent waste.
- Oversee inventory counts (onsite and offsite), reconcile variances, and ensure compliance with FIFO rotation and storage standards.
- Place and confirm purchase orders using order guides, ERP, and vendor systems; manage JIT ordering to minimize floor inventory while ensuring uninterrupted supply.
- Order and track miscellaneous operational supplies; submit accurate purchasing and receiving documentation to QA and Accounts Payable.
- Maintain raw material traceability forms, resolve material quality issues in coordination with QA and Baking Science, return defective materials to vendors, and document supplier performance.
- Coordinate closely with Receiving to ensure material readiness for production; serve as backup to Receiving when needed.
- Maintain organized, clean, and pest-free storage areas; conduct daily floor checks to verify available space and adjust orders accordingly.
- Comply with King’s Hawaiian safety policies, promote a safety-first culture, and identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste minimization.
- Provide guidance, training, and operational support to the Commissary Inventory & Receiving Team.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.
BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or equivalent relevant experience required; degree in supply chain, business administration, or food science preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, or materials planning in a food manufacturing environment required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Manufacturing only)
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform warehouse walkthroughs for extended periods.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE)
- Proficient ability to use ERP systems (Flexibake preferred) for purchasing, inventory tracking, and vendor management.
- Proficient understanding of GMP and SQF compliance requirements related to material handling, storage, and traceability.
- Working knowledge of production planning principles, supply chain forecasting, and JIT inventory practices.
- Proficient ability to analyze inventory trends and prepare accurate procurement reports.
- Working understanding of vendor negotiation and performance management techniques.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

- Compensation $33- $45.67 DOE
