We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Analyst to join our Investment Finance and Valuations team in Toronto. 

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining complex portfolio models, compiling portfolio data and reporting for the infrastructure and private equity platforms to support the quarterly valuation and forecasting process. Other responsibilities include performing portfolio analytics and conducting scenario analysis to support the Finance and Investment Teams, as required.

Responsibilities: 

As a valued member of the OMERS Investment Finance and Valuations Team, you will play a critical role in developing portfolio analysis that supports strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Support the quarterly portfolio analysis to assess performance trends, identify key drivers, and provide actionable insights for senior leadership. 

  • Maintain and enhance complex financial models that support strategic planning and scenario analysis across infrastructure and private equity portfolios. 

  • Drive scenario and “what-if” analyses to evaluate the impact of capital allocation decisions, market shifts, and investment strategies on portfolio returns. 

  • Collaborate with Investment Teams to deliver timely, data-driven insights that inform decision-making and optimize portfolio outcomes. 

  • Prepare and present portfolio summaries and management reporting that clearly communicate performance, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders. 

  • Support the development of annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and accurate financial planning. 

  • Contribute to system enhancements and process improvements, including the implementation of portfolio management tools and automation initiatives. 

  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses, providing expertise and innovative solutions to complex financial challenges. 

 To Succeed in This Role, You Have: 

  • accounting/ finance experience, prior exposure to the asset management industry is a plus; 

  • Prior experience in financial planning and analysis; 

  • CPA, CFA or CBV designation or enrollment in the CPA, CFA or CBV program;  

  • General knowledge of financial and valuation analysis (i.e. financial statements, valuation methodologies, etc.); 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level) and the ability to work with complex financial models; 

  • Prior experience in using analytics tools; 

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skills; 

  • Attention to detail; 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; 

  • Ability to perform under time pressure and respond to unexpected events or circumstances;  

  • Works on improving own knowledge, skills and aptitudes; and 

  • Skilled collaborator who thrives in dynamic environments by balancing multiple priorities and timelines with ease and professionalism.
