Contract Specialist – 6 Months’ Contract
Join a high-performing Legal team, make an impact, and grow your expertise. At KIK, we believe great contracts help drive great business. We’re looking for a Contract Specialist to join our four-member Contracts Team for a 6-month term to cover a maternity leave. The Contracts Team is nested within the Legal Department. The Department is led by our Chief Legal Officer and partners with business teams across the company. In this role, you’ll review, draft, negotiate, and manage contracts from start to finish, and play a key role in ensuring our agreements are clear, fair, and beneficial for KIK. You’ll report directly to a KIK Legal Counsel and collaborate closely with colleagues across functions. If you’re a skilled contracts professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - and you want to work on diverse agreements that directly affect a dynamic business - this is your chance.
What You’Ll Do
- Review, draft, revise, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including supply, services, purchase, NDA/confidentiality, SaaS, staffing/recruitment, licensing, and other commercial contracts.
- Analyze contract terms to identify risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders - from procurement and finance to operations - to align agreements with KIK’s policies and business objectives.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle: preparing, routing, tracking, filing, and archiving agreements in our contract management system.
- Maintain and update templates, clause libraries, and approved responses to streamline future negotiations.
- Support continuous improvement in processes, templates, and playbooks.
- Participate in team meetings, strategy sessions, and special projects.
What You'Ll Bring
- Experienced - Minimum five years of hands-on contract review, drafting, negotiation, and administration experience.
- Educated – Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in law is a plus but not essential, if the candidate meets the experience requirement above.
- Skilled communicator - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a gift for drafting in clear, precise English. Proficiency in French is an asset, but not essential.
- Versatile - interest in branching out to other areas (e.g., compliance or privacy) is an asset but not essential.
- Detail-focused - Strong proofreading skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Organized & proactive - Able to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with sound judgment.
- Tech-savvy - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel; familiar with SharePoint, DocuSign, and contract management software.
- Discreet & professional - Trusted to handle confidential information appropriately.
Why Join Us?
- Collaborative environment - Be part of a close-knit Contracts Team that values both excellence and teamwork.
- Variety & challenge - Work on a wide range of agreements that have real business impact.
- Professional growth - Learn from experienced legal professionals and gain exposure to high-quality legal work.
- Purpose-driven work - Help build contracts that protect the business and strengthen relationships.
If you’re ready to bring your contracts expertise to a role where your work truly matters, we’d love to hear from you.
