Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
I.POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position exists to supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance technicians. By exercising supervision on direct first-level maintenance works, smooth operations, high-quality workmanship, competitive costs, and a clean and safe working environment will be achieved. This position will strive for continual improvement in every area of Maintenance involvement, resulting ultimately in a profitable and competitive position for our Company.
II.MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Manage and Lead: Develop assigned areas of stewardship for each technician to create a sense of ownership and promote a good working relationship with unit personnel. Maintain knowledge of best practices and provide continuing education opportunities to personnel.
Process Improvement: Assist department engineers with revisions to departmental SOP’S. Provide new ideas to promote higher efficiency while keeping costs down.
Facilitate the Fulfillment of Work Orders: Review work orders and work in progress to verify that the correct procedures are effectively used per company standards and safety and environmental standards. Manage, solve, and/or recommend resolving discrepancies, deviations, abnormalities, customer complaints, quality, and non-quality-related issues.
Staff Development: Maintain knowledge of best practices and provide continuing education opportunities. Develop each individual’s talents to the fullest, creating an environment that supports collaboration, cross-functional teamwork, and information sharing. Communicate, lead, and motivate high-performance expectations, individual initiative, and accountability.
III.QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous Related Experience Required
◦ Five (5) years’ experience in the mechanical maintenance field, which includes at least three (3) years in the maintenance department of a Petrochemical plant or refinery.
• Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job
◦ Personal computer skills and applicable software.
◦ Good interpersonal and communication skills.
◦ Good business writing ability.
◦ AS400 and organizational skills
• Education
◦ High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of direct job- related experience required.
