One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a 1 FTE Medical Secretary, who as a valuable member of the Community Health Centre team will provide medical secretary assistance to the First Five Program and midwifery programs. The focus is to provide inter-professional team care that focuses on prevention and health promotion to unattached children and their families.
The position has a competitive salary and an option to join the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan.
Qualifications:
• Three to five year’s office experience in a health setting;
• Secondary school diploma, Medical Secretary certificate or equivalent relevant work experience;
• Good knowledge of medical terminology and high proficiency/accuracy in word processing and data entry skills;
• Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office;
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible, organized, a self-starter, and possess excellent problem solving skills;
• Demonstrated ability to perform well with multiple timelines, demands and unpredictable delays;
• Excellent organizational skills, judgement and tact;
• Demonstrated experience working across all genders with racialized populations, indigenous peoples, individuals who engage in sex work, individuals who are/have been incarcerated, people with mental health challenges, and people who have experienced trauma.
