Position: Member Advisory Services Coordinator

Job Summary
The Coordinator provides overall administrative and customer support for the Member Advisory Services (MAS) department. The MAS department assists members with ethical, technical, practice management, and other profession-related issues. In addition, the MAS department assists the general public in their dealings with their professional accountant and responds to enquiries about the profession. The MAS department also supports member events and services that enhance the profession such as member forums and other ad-hoc groups (including stakeholder consultations).
Key Responsibilities:
Member, Student, Candidate and General Public Support
- Triage incoming enquiries from members, students, candidates, and the general public;
- Support members by responding to their questions on a broad range of subjects (e.g. professional development, membership, member dues, retirement, etc.);
- Respond to questions from the general public on a broad range of subjects (e.g. how and where to find a Chartered Professional Accountant, complaints process, etc.);
- Provide general guidance on the process of public practice licensing/registration and other practice management issues, escalating issues and questions when appropriate.
Member Forum Support
- Provide staff support to various member forums by arranging meetings, setting up online registration, sending out event invitations and reminders, tracking registrations, following up on forum member enquiries, registering/de-registering members, creating event surveys, sending out post-event surveys, coordinating event evaluations, and making venue and catering arrangements.
MAS Support
- Support the MAS department in their educational efforts through CPABC publications (CPABC eNews, CPABC In-Focus, etc.) and the CPABC Public Practice Knowledge Base;
- Assist the MAS department in the coordination of outreach activities and preparation of responses to national and international exposure drafts, or other such discussion or consultation papers;
- Support the MAS department’s operational reporting responsibilities;
- And other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or post-secondary qualification in a related discipline, or equivalent experience;
- Proven experience in a customer service capacity, or similar function;
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and written;
- Diplomatic, tactful, and comfortable in dealing with senior management;
- Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
- Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational and time management skills and the ability to multi-task;
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to deal with sensitive and complex information;
- Proficiency with MS Office, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;
- Ability to travel within BC with flexibility to attend meetings, as may be required.
The starting annual salary for this position is between $51,850 and $61,560 per annum, based on candidates’ qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.
