FAC ENGINEERING/ENERGY INTERN

Complete a 10 to 15 week program on Kroger’s Energy Team to assist in several areas, including lighting, incentives, solar, motors, ENERGY STAR, maintenance and other assigned tasks within Facility Engineering - Energy.  Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

• Work with energy engineers and management to assist in various projects in order to implement corporate strategies.

• Participate in weekly department meetings.

• Complete internship-specific assignments.

• Complete cumulative project (summary of internship accomplishments) and present to the executive team or appropriate managers.

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum

• Student at an accredited college or university

• Minimum 3.0 GPA

• Approval by the Division of Professional Practice to co-op

• Proficient Microsoft Office skills and ability to utilize basic engineering tools

• Knowledge of basic engineering principles

• Ability to think critically and act independently and interdependently

• Self-motivated and driven to complete tasks at hand to meet deadlines

• Excellent time management skills 

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Responds to change as a positive challenge

• Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and a high attention to detail

• Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality

Desired

• Civil engineer, mechanical engineer or construction management student

• Experience in a professional work environment

• Experience managing multiple priorities between school, work and extra-curricular activities

• Competency in AutoCAD

• Involvement in leadership and community activities
