Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting 9 Admission and Enrolment Assistants to join the Student Operations team on a fixed-term, full-time contract for the period of November – end of February/March. 

In this role you will be responsible for processing and facilitating applications whilst providing high quality, accurate and timely advice and information to students and staff about the University’s admission and enrolment policies, procedures and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing of Admission and Enrolment applications maintaining student information with precision across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
  • Monitor admission and enrolment applications, resolving issues and supporting a timely and seamless student experience.
  • Provide clear, timely, supportive communication to students and key stakeholders via phone, email, student portal, and in person channels. 
  • Provide accurate and efficient service to produce and issue student ID cards with appropriate associated access rights.

You will be an organised, detail driven, and motivated individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent service delivery and enjoy supporting students to help them succeed.

This role is busy, challenging, extremely rewarding and interesting for the individual with the right temperament.  You will pick up new skills, knowledge and software quickly and be able to adapt to a changing environment. You will proactively be able to create good working relationships with key staff and know the importance of seeking feedback to continually improve the service you deliver.

  • Ability to learn and confidently follow processes and new systems.
  • Proven organisational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage diverse audiences and provide exceptional customer service.
  • A team player who actively contributes to shared goals and supports colleagues as needed.

Please note, as this role is to support our team over a busy period, substantial pre-arranged annual leave / holiday plans may not be able to be accommodated.
