APTS® is searching for a Grant and Development Coordinator.
Summary of role:
The position will be responsible for overseeing the full grant cycle, including initial research, inquiry, and identification, as well as coordinating the writing process, managing the application and submission process, and overseeing award administration and follow-up reporting. The Grant and Development Coordinator role will create and implement a fundraising strategy for APTS and its affiliates, and serve as the primary point of contact for donors.
Requirements
Employee’s duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop an organizational fundraising strategy and general value proposition document
- Identify grant opportunities via connections, social networks, grants databases, etc.
- Perform extensive prospect research on trusts, foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects and eligibility for corporate and foundation grants, government grants and contracts
- Initiate all web-based fundraising activities
- Work with Directors to identify specific areas of need creating annual fund development plans
- Develop, manage and execute all aspects of fund development campaigns including but not limited to capital campaigns, corporate and individual, annual fund, and special events
- Create, manage and update database of donors contact information
- Solicit cash, in-kind donations and sponsorship commitments from individual/corporate donors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business writing, English or a related major required
- Must be able to drive/hold valid driver’s license and be willing to travel (primarily locally)
- Able to maintain a flexible work schedule that occasionally includes evenings and weekends
- 2 years professional experience in funds development and experience with a non-profit organization preferred
- Experience in grant research having successfully identified funding sources and secured funding
- Membership in the American Grant Writers' Association (AGWA) or the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) a plus
- Experience in initiating and executing a fundraising campaign
- Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, exemplary written and verbal communication skills, basic math ability, and excellent problem-solving skills
