Senior Director, Israel Business Operations

As the most senior leadership role in the country, this role will lead and oversee all operations at our Israeli manufacturing site(s). This critical leadership role will be responsible for directly managing and driving performance across Manufacturing and Supply Chain, and for supervising Engineering, Finance, IT and Quality & Regulatory through strong collaboration with functional leaders within Israel and outside the country as well. 

Requirements

Site and Country Leadership

• Provide direct leadership for the Manufacturing and Supply Chain team at the site, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are achieved.
• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, Lean methodologies, and performance management.
• Contribute to the business strategy in the areas of Production, Distribution (Warehouse) and Supply Chain to ensure that the Company achieves its short- and long-term objectives.
• Supervise Engineering, Finance, IT and Quality & Regulatory functions within the country through collaboration with designated functional managers based in Israel.
• Ensure functional alignment with global strategies while adapting to regional needs and regulatory environments.
• Act as the key escalation point and country-level coordinator across all site functions
• Represent the Israeli site in global business strategy and decision-making forums.
• Ensure effective resource planning and utilization, workforce development, and succession planning aligned with Safeguard’s global business priorities
• Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) across all site functions
• Develop, monitor and communicate financial targets including expense budgets, Cost of Goods Sold including variances, project expenses and other financial reporting. 
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and environmental standards.
• Partner with Corporate Quality and Regulatory Affairs to support audit readiness and compliance excellence.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, global operations, R&D, and commercial teams.
• Represent the site in external interactions as needed (e.g., suppliers, regulators, government bodies).
• Be a catalyst for strong and effective communication between the Israeli sites and other Safeguard locations, in support of Safeguard DNA strands, providing clarity and transparency in all communications.
• Assess team member strengths and capabilities, implement and support development plans to improve team member capacity and leadership skills, and where development gaps exist, work with HR to provide appropriate coaching, guidance and training.
• Assess all project and resource requirements (people, equipment, funding, time and knowledge) to ensure successful project. implementation 

Production/ Distribution/ Supply Chain

• Directly manage manufacturing and production processes, ensure planning and production schedules are of the required standard to deliver finished products that meet Quality Assurance standards, and are available to customers within agreed costs and timescales 
• Collate and analyse data, develop production reports, to monitor productivity rates, standards, and quality control, making relevant improvements to improve productivity and quality standards, drive efficiency and reduce costs 
• Collaborate with Global Supply Chain leader on the oversight for warehousing and distribution functions, ensuring all products are delivered at competitive cost, to deliver targeted margins 
• Collate and analyse data, to monitor productivity, standards, and quality control, making relevant improvements to improve productivity and quality standards, drive efficiency and reduce costs within the Manufacturing and Warehouse Operations
• Collaborate with Global quality on the oversight of quality functions within operations (inspections, supplier quality, etc.) and on the improvements needed to maintain a high level of product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Global Supply Chain leader on strategy for purchasing goods and services required for production purposes meets agreed costs and quality standards
