About the role

We are seeking a talented Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high-performing team of software engineers working on the Osos Language Intelligence platform. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence, ensuring delivery of robust services, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

What you'll do

● Leading a team of software engineers to design, develop, test, and ship high-quality components/services on the Osos Language Intelligence platform using agile methodologies and best practices

● Working on architecture, design and development of the next generation of Osos Language Intelligence platform

● Working with researchers, data scientists, and engineers in the team to design and build the end-to-end pipelines covering data annotation, model training, data analysis, model serving and model evaluation

● Fostering and developing talented engineers capable of developing and running scalable, reliable, maintainable services

● Understanding product requirements and how they translate in application features

● Building, leading and collaborating with engineering and data science professionals to set specifications for new applications

● Developing technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

● Maintaining list of conventions and standards for the team

● Building and managing a software engineering team and managing their capabilities to work on project or product

● Mentoring and coaching software engineers that are junior to them on the team

● Planning & managing test automation, creating a culture that adopts test automation

● Setting rules and conventions to review code for software engineers on the team

● Planning the annual budget, human resources, vendors needed, and software licences for the sector

Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field

● 10+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (Python, Golang, C#, Java or JavaScript)

● 7+ years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects, with 3 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role

● 3+ years of experience of hands-on building natural language processing is preferable

● 2+ years of experience in designing and implementing scalable, real-time software systems is preferable

● Experience in applying, implementing, and/or developing algorithms for machine learning, artificial intelligence, or statistics is preferable
