The Head of Technology is a member of MHA’s senior leadership team, responsible for leading the technology department and overseeing the development and implementation of highly innovative solutions that support the organization's vision and goals.   Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Technology will foster internal and external synergies to align product and technology, driving collaborative results. The Head of Technology will lead an innovation focused, dynamic and results-driven team where intelligent autonomy drives outcomes that help our members improve patient care, efficiency, costs of healthcare and predictive health interventions all with a passion for building tech-enabled business products.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Strategic Direction and Vision

  • Create and drive the product roadmap with a focus on scalable cloud architecture, microservices, data security, and machine learning (including high impact cases for agentic AI g., customer service agents, autonomous operations, workflow optimization), for the long-term care industry.
  • Collaborate with business units to align technology strategies with enterprise architecture, optimizing resources and infrastructure.

Innovation and Growth

  • Leverage data analytics, UX/UI design, and CRM tools to optimize product offerings and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Engage clients and partners in discussions on digital transformation, AI, IoT, and blockchain in healthcare and long-term care.
  • Define the AI adoption strategy aligned with business goals, focusing on agentic capabilities like autonomous task execution and decision-making.

Technical Development

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle, ensuring integration of enterprise applications, third-party tools, and cloud platforms.
  • Ensure IT infrastructure supports secure and scalable agent deployment (APIs, cloud, data pipelines, etc.).
  • Implement real-time performance monitoring for scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Explore emerging technologies like AI/ML, big data analytics, automation, and AR to drive innovation. Evaluate and select healthcare compliant agentic AI platforms (e.g., AutoGPT, OpenAI tools, open-source agent frameworks).
  • Leverage DevOps tools (e.g., CI/CD, Git) for cross-functional teamwork and timely product delivery.
  • Establish and enforce cybersecurity, cloud governance, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Leadership and Team Building

  • Lead organizational change efforts to prepare staff for AI-driven shifts in workflow.
  • Lead a high-performing team of engineers and product managers with expertise in cloud infrastructure, data analytics, and software engineering and development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and integration of Agile, DevOps, and automation practices to enhance collaboration.
  • Upskill IT and business teams on agentic AI concepts, tools, and risks

 Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 10+ years as a product and technology leader in a high-growth digital solutions organization, ideally healthcare-focused.
  • Experience architecting and building products from pre-launch through maturity, including scaling from MVP to mass adoption.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; MBA or STEM Master’s preferred.
  • Systems Thinking with Applied AI/ML Experiences built to scale and manage performance
  • Proven success in creating and owning a comprehensive product roadmap strategy, balancing short-term customer needs with long-term growth initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of dual-sided healthcare networks (e.g., GPO, PSAO) and optimizing user experience for both supply and demand sides.
  • Experience building service-based architectures with microservices frameworks.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure DevOps and cloud infrastructure services.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, and HR SaaS platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including requirements analysis, debugging, and risk assessment.
  • Execution-focused with a track record of driving impactful results.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management as a player-coach, motivating teams to deliver results.
  • Data-driven mindset with proven success in reporting metrics to internal leaders and boards.

Salary: The salary range for this role is $211,251 - $316,876.

This is the lowest to highest salary range for which this role has been evaluated.  An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors which include, but not limited to education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
