Job Description
Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to manage the Group’s Trade Finance activity including all Bank Guarantees and Letters of Credits in line with business requirements and IAG standards.
The Trade Finance Analyst will be responsible for managing Trade Finance instruments for Operating Companies within the Group, supporting Trade Finance Process Lead in building a centralised repository, aligning processes and reporting across all OpCo’s. This role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills understanding of banking and financial instruments, specifically bank guarantees.
Accountabilities:
Bank Guarantees Administration: Manage the end-to-end process of issuing, reviewing, amending, and cancelling bank guarantees, ensuring compliance with treasury policies, legal requirements, and banking standards.
Relationship Management: Interact with OpCo’s, to understand their current and future trade finance requirements, provide expert advice, and offer tailored solutions that meet their needs. Build and maintain strong relationships with OpCos, providers of trade finance solutions and other relevant Group stakeholders.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance frameworks related to bank guarantees. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all guarantees.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Corporate Finance, Legal, Risk Management, and Operations, to ensure effective coordination and timely resolution of issues related to bank guarantees.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on bank guarantee activities, including issuance volumes, performance metrics, and risk exposure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of trade finance processes, regulations, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, trade finance, and international banking practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Fluent English speaking preferable.
- Proficiency in using banking systems and technology platforms for bank guarantee management would be an asset.
- Great team player
- Knowledge of TMS would be an asset.
