Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sr Embedded Systems Specialist to join our education team. This unique role combines technical expertise in embedded software development with a passion for teaching and mentoring others. The ideal candidate will be responsible for introducing the University Curriculum, Embedded Systems: From Product Design to PCB Layout, a global university initiative developed by Renesas and Altium to prepare industry-ready students in embedded systems, hardware engineering, and PCB design.  This role is responsible for developing training materials and delivering technical training sessions for the University community from beginners to advanced students. As part of the Altium Education team, you will be responsible for introductory cross training on PCB design and the Altium Designer Solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively integrate creativity into the course curriculum to help students get aligned with the industry and manage the development and deployment of the course across the universities.
  • Candidate shall also be responsible for cross-functional collaboration in timely execution and setting up of the process.
  • Deliver training sessions on the University Embedded Systems curriculum, and embedded software development, either virtually or in-person, to Professors and students.
  • Act as a technical advisor and mentor to engineering faculty and students needing guidance on embedded system concepts, debugging best practices and basic PCB design skills.
  • Analyze, review, and debug embedded software code to support student projects
  • Collaborate with product and application engineering teams to stay aligned with the latest Renesas hardware and software platforms.
  • Provide technical feedback to development teams based on customer and trainee interactions.
  • Support technical enablement of initiatives, documentation, and knowledge base development.

     

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Sr. Level 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in embedded software development.
    • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for microcontrollers and embedded systems.
    • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and debugging embedded software, including use of tools such as JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and IDE debuggers.
    • Expertise and development experience on embedded platforms.
    • Expertise and prior experience with Project management and tools is required.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with a proven ability to present technical concepts clearly and effectively.
    • Passion for education and mentoring, with the ability to adjust teaching style based on university level experience and background.
    • Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

    ·Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in creating technical training materials or online learning content.
    • Experience in teaching or mentoring University level faculty and/or students
    • Experience working with QuickConnect Studio and QuickConnect kits
    • Exposure to real-time operating systems (RTOS), device drivers, and peripheral integration.
    • Experience with scripting languages such as Python for test automation or tooling.
    • Knowledge of standard communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.).
    • Interest in teaching the embedded design ecosystem from product design to PCB layout
